The Fieseler Fi.156C Storch was a light aircraft used by the Luftwaffe for battlefield observations and reconnaissance missions. The plane has excellent short take-off and landing characteristics making it especially suited for field operations. A Storch piloted by German spy Otto Scorzny was used to rescue Italian dictator Mussolini in 1943. The Storch continued to be produced in many variants in France and Czechoslovakia after WWII.
