The Cutty Sark is one of the most famous of the old clipper ships; fast sailing vessels used for transporting goods from the Orient and built during the nineteenth century. The Cutty Sark is the sole survivor of these great ships and is now a museum in London. Clippers were very sharp and narrow, making them the fastest ships on the sea. Because they were so fast, owners could charge premium prices for delivering cargo quickly.
